A client approached us to manufacture 40 brackets for non structural bracing of roof beams in his property.
As this was a low quantity order, needed with a quick turn around, we elected to complete the fabrication process for the brackets in house. With a minor modification to our manual forming machine we were able to create a u-shape bracket with 50mm to inside face and an arm length of 190mm. To get this done externally would of required the use a W-bend and we still would of had to create the 13mm tension stud hole in-house.
From the clients sketch we created CAD drawings, once approved we completed test bends on the material to confirm everything was correct. Once all the brackets were cut, drilled and pressed, all parts were checked for dimensions and accuracy of bend throughout the process, finally we used a jig to drill the 13mm clearance holes for M12 tension studs on the end face.
